Steps to Become an Official Panther
Step 1: Get your I-20
Pay your $300 tuition deposit in Panther Pass (refer to Steps 3 & 4 below)
Email the following as separate attachments to firstname.lastname@example.org:
- Completed I-20 Request Form
- Completed Financial Certificate
- Bank Letter and/or Bank Statement dated within 6 months from the request date of the I-20
- Copy of your passport with a valid expiration date
- Proof of English Proficiency
- Demonstrate English language proficiency (this is required for the issuance of immigration documents, I-20). Request your official test scores (iBT, IELTS, PTE, CAE, Kaplan, ELS) to be sent to Florida Tech.
If you already have a valid I-20, you must transfer it to Florida Institute of Technology. Please have your current US institution complete a Transfer of Eligibility form. You do not need to return to the US Embassy for a new visa if your I-20 is transferred appropriately.
Step 2: Activate your TRACKS
TRACKS is your personal username and password for all things Florida Tech so it’s important that you establish your account within two weeks of being admitted. The activation email should be in your inbox, it was sent to the email address you provided on your application for admission. Once you have your username and password established you can move on to Step 3. Accessing Panther Pass, your admitted student portal.
Can’t find your activation email? Please contact Tech Support Office at email@example.com or call (321) 674-7284.
Step 3: Access PantherPass
PantherPass is your one-stop source to help you navigate all enrollment-related activities, including tools to:
- Confirm your attendance and pay your required deposit
- Review and reserve your merit based awards
- Access required online placement exams
- Register for classes
- Register for housing and a meal plan
- Download your required health history form
- Upload a photo for your Florida Tech ID
Complete the tasks at your own pace, keeping in mind some tasks have deadlines. You will need to complete PatherPass prior to orientation. (Orientation details at fit.edu/orientation)
Step 4: Make your Deposit
To confirm your intent to enroll you are required to pay a non-refundable $300 tuition deposit. The tuition deposit is subtracted from your first semester tuition charges. Doing so will confirm your attendance and unlock the remaining modules in PantherPass.
The deadline to pay your tuition deposit is May 1st of the year in which you wish to enroll or within 30 days if you have been admitted after April 1st. All admitted students residing on campus are also required to pay a refundable $200 housing deposit. Once you have paid your housing deposit, you will then have access through PantherPass to the housing and meal plan contract.
Step 5: Demonstrate English Proficiency
Demonstrate English language proficiency (this is required for the issuance of immigration documents, I-20). Request your official test scores to be sent to Florida Tech. For TOEFL scores, our school code is 5080.
Step 6: Use your FIT email address @my.fit.edu
Once you pay your tuition deposit, you’ll receive notification of your Florida Tech email account. This email will come from firstname.lastname@example.org, and be sent to the email address you provided on your application for admission.
At this point all official university messages will be sent to only one place: your @my.fit.edu email address. So check your email often.
To access your Florida Tech email:
- Go to my.fit.edu
- Login with your TRACKS username (example, ppanther2017) and password
- If you need help or have misplaced your email from Tech Support, contact them at email@example.com
Remember that submission of Official Final High School Transcripts is mandatory. These must include date of graduation and must be mailed directly from your school to Florida Tech. Official attested translations are also required. A “course registration hold” preventing future registration will remain on your account until received. Mailing address is:
